Read More...The lagoon of Mucurca is located at 4 350 meters in the region of Arequipa, province of Caylloma , district of Cabanaconde - Colca Canyon. Mucurca Lake offers the best view of the volcanoes of Ampato, Sabakanya and Hualca-Hualca. This small lake is a home of variety of Flora and Fauna such as flamingos and the andean fox. We offer daily visit to explore Mucurca from Cabanaconde.

On this Tour you will have breakfast with the best view of Mucurca Lagoon, surrounded by volcanoes and just the sounds of the birds. The early the better and we can coordinate if you want to start this tour early in order to see the sunrise. In Mucurca we explore the area and get the best views we can of the Volcanoes, specially the Sabankaya Volcanoe who smokes everyday. On the way back we stop at a panoramic view of the pre-inca terraces of Cabanaconde.

We depart from Cabanaconde to Mucurca at 14hrs. The ride uphill takes approx 1 hr. Visiting Mucurca in the afternoon is also a great experience. In Mucurca we explore the area and get the best views we can of the Volcanoes, specially the Sabankaya Volcanoe which smokes everyday. We visit an Alpaca farm. On the way back we stop at a panoramic view of the pre-inca terraces of Cabanaconde.
